A Guardian System for Human Safety
LumaID Technology Flow

System Architecture

LumaID is a hardware–software safety platform designed to remain with the wearer and operate independently of phones, clothing, or accessories.

The system consists of:
• A body-adhered electronic patch
• A secure wireless communication layer
• A cloud-based processing system
• A guardian mobile application

Together, these components form a continuous safety link between the wearer and their authorized guardians.

Body-Adhered Safety Patch

Unlike wearable devices that clip to clothing or require a phone, LumaID is designed to adhere directly to the skin.

This allows the system to:
• Remain with the person if clothing or belongings are removed
• Detect loss of skin contact
• Detect forced or unauthorized removal
• Operate discreetly without visible accessories

The patch is designed for wear by newborns, children, adults, and seniors.

Independent Location Signaling

The LumaID patch contains its own communication capability and does not rely on the wearer carrying a phone.

When an emergency condition is detected, the system can transmit:
• A device identity signal
• Location information
• A time-stamped emergency event

This information is securely routed through the LumaID server infrastructure and delivered to authorized guardian devices.

Event Detection & Emergency Logic

LumaID is designed to recognize critical safety events without requiring the wearer to press a button.

Detection may include:
• Patch removal or loss of contact
• Tampering or enclosure disturbance
• Abnormal motion patterns
• Signal interruption

When such events occur, the system automatically initiates an emergency sequence based on configured rules and permissions.

Identity & Data Protection

Each LumaID patch is associated with a unique digital identity profile.

The system supports:
• Encrypted data transmission
• Secure device authentication
• Guardian authorization controls
• Consent-based access for adult users
• Anti-misuse and anti-stalking safeguards

Only approved guardians can receive alerts or view location data

Guardian Alerting

When an emergency event is triggered, LumaID can notify guardians through:
• Mobile app alerts
• Push notifications
• Optional SMS or phone call escalation

Alerts include:
• Event type
• Time of occurrence
• Last known location
• Status updates

If alerts are not acknowledged, escalation rules can notify additional contacts.

Operating Modes

LumaID supports multiple operating modes to reduce false alarms and adapt to different use cases:

• Passive Mode — identity and safety monitoring
• Monitoring Mode — location awareness and guardian visibility
• Emergency Mode — alert and escalation behavior

Modes can be configured based on age, risk profile, and guardian preferences.

Designed For Critical Safety Scenarios

The LumaID system is designed for:
• Missing person recovery
• Wander-risk protection
• Abduction and separation events
• Hospital and care environments
• Disaster and evacuation scenarios
• Everyday family safety
